NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a club, we recognize the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the traditional owners of the land on which we play and train. We are committed to building strong relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and supporting their aspirations. During NAIDOC Week 2023, we will be hosting various events and activities to honor and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. These events will include cultural performances, traditional food tastings, and educational sessions on the history and significance of NAIDOC Week. We will also be wearing a special Indigenous jersey during our NRL game in honor of the occasion. The jersey will feature artwork by a local Aboriginal artist, which will represent the strong connection between the Wests Tigers and the local Aboriginal community.
