It reminds me of Luxottica, which also owns licenses from all sorts of Western brands from Armani to Oakley to Chanel to Ray Ban and make glasses for them in China. This is what happens when businesses are incentivized to manufacture in China because of their competitive advantage in labor cost. China doesn’t have wage standards, insurance costs, working standards laws…etc that we do in the US. You end up having Western companies becoming essentially branding and marketing focused while China holds the production capability. It’s an inherently unstable system that exploits third world workers while also completely destroying out industrial heartland. Business are just playing the game to win, but the system was set up this way by our governments. TPP is a great example of trying to take it even further, and Trump is opposing it.

This is actually a good example of why Trump is so popular. It’s why he’s about to break the all time record for votes in a GOP primary, despite more money having been spent in attack ads against him than all other candidates combined, and despite being demonized as Hitler by the mainstream media every day for months. Reddit’s demographic is so overwhelmingly high school/college liberals and it doesn’t really understand the plight of the working class in America and just how many are hurting from the fundamental changes in the economy that occurred over the last two generations. In the 1960’s Detroit was one of the most prosperous cities on the planet, driven by a strong industrial core. Today is a completely disaster, because all the jobs are gone to the third world for pennies on the dollar.

The reality is that America is still a country based on working class white people, and this concentration is particularly high in places such as West Virginia, who have fallen on hard times. Manufacturing, mining, and other industrial jobs which have been the backbone of the economy, and which have provided millions of decent-paying jobs, have been under siege in the last 20-30 years. And there are lots of people struggling, and who could use some help. But they don’t hear solutions either from the GOP or DNC establishment. The GOP establishment wants more war in the Middle East and more globalism and more bible thumping religious nonsense. The Democrats offer nothing but identity politics, splitting the country into groups that can be sold social victimhood narratives (women, blacks, hispanics, gays…etc) and offering them handouts, while continuing globalist policies that hurt those same groups. Hillary just wants more TPP, more greedy globalism, more nation-building wars to keep her military lobby happy. Is it any wonder then, that they would be drawn to Trump, who unlike the GOP establishment wants to incentivize American companies to keep the jobs here, and who unlike the Democrats won’t immediately demonize them as racist sexist shitlords by virtue of who they are? Police For Trump Making America Great Again Flag
