He’s an awesome dude who has given me the time of day for this of which I’m still stunned and grateful. So I’m just gonna stop blabbing and I’m gonna get right into it! I hope you enjoy this!

Q: What were the shows and influences that started your love and got you into Animation as a whole?

A: Growing up in the 70’s meant a lot of Warner Bros. and Hanna Barbera cartoons, but I was always captivated by the animated segments on Sesame Street. Artists Like Bud Luckey and Sally Cruikshank were definately big influences for me.

Q: How did you start your Animation Career? What did your career path look like getting to CN City?

A: One of my earliest memories is getting in trouble in Kindergarten for drawing scenes of dinosaurs in my books. So I’ve been drawing characters as long as I can remember. In high school I made pocket money by drawing custom Converse High Tops for my classmates, but never thought I could make a career out of it.

At 16 I was hanging out with a friend during his shift at the local gas station and doodling away when a customer came in to pay for his gas. He noticed my drawings and asked if I ever thought about doing it professionally. Up to this point every adult in my life had always told me that I was wasting my time drawing cartoons. I remember shrugging my shoulders and telling him “I dunno, maybe”. It turned out he was the Creative Director for an advertising agency and they were looking for an artist to do character illustrations for some of their clients. He gave me his card and that’s how I landed my first professional job as an artist.
