Blink-182 went on hiatus in 2005, and the members pursued other projects. DeLonge formed the bands Box Car Racer and Angels & Airwaves, while Barker joined +44 and Transplants. Blink-182 took another hiatus in 2015, but they reunited again in 2016 and released their seventh studio album, California, in 2016. California was their first album without DeLonge, who was replaced by Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. In 2018, DeLonge rejoined the band, and they released their eighth studio album, Nine, in 2019.
